1981 Ferrari 400i Coupe

This 1981 Ferrari GTi 400 is painted in its original color of Marrone Colorado. It is fitted with the desirable five-speed gearbox and fuel-injected engine offering 315 horsepower. Its early life was spent in Germany, later imported to the US in 1983, where it has remained ever since. Most of its time in the US has been spent on the West Coast, in California. This car has been properly maintained and preserved since new. In 1983 it was given a Kenwood radio which it retains in modern times. Its fuel delivery system has been replaced and a new exhaust system installed. The dash has been recovered, a new clutch installed, new timing chains and crankshaft seals fitted, along with a number of other updates. It has the correct five-spoke magnesium wheels and period-correct Michelin TRX tires.

In 2007 it was brought to the Gooding & Company auction held in Pebble Beach, CA where it was estimated to sell for $30,000 - $40,000 and offered without reserve. The lot surpassed those estimates, settling at $52,800 including buyer's premium.
