1958 Plymouth Belvedere V8 HardTop Coupe

This 1958 Plymouth is a very famous car; it was 'Christine', an indestructible, evil car that would destroy anything that got in its way. This is a real 'Christine' built for Columbia Production to be used in the 1983 horror film 'Christine.' This is documented as car #14, fitted with a fuel cell and roll cage, a low solo seat, blackened-out windows, and sandblasted windshield. The windows were darkened so the stunt driver could not be seen. The interior has been restored back to original condition.

In Stephen King's novel 'Christine', the vehicle is described as a Plymouth Fury. In John Carpenter's adaptation of the Stephen King novel, the Belvedere and the Savoy, were used to portray the malevolent automobile.

The book describes several incorrect features for the 1958 Fury, referring to items that were found on the Belvedere model and not the Fury. The inaccuracies includes 'rear doors', 'Hydramatic' transmission (which was a GM transmission; Chrysler's were called TorqueFlite), and 'gearshift lever' (Chrysler automobiles with automatics used push-button drive).
