1951 Ford V8 Shooting Break Woody Wagon

1951 Ford V8 Shooting Break Navigation
This vehicle is a 1951 Ford (English) V-8 Pilot Shooting Break. The term 'Shooting Break' evolved from the French term 'Break de Chasse,' which meant a break in the hunt. For British based vehicles, the term 'Brake' commonly referred to any station wagon or sport ute. During the early part of the 20th century, shooting parties were popular on wealthy estates in the UK. When the hunting party moved to a new location, it was done in a 'shooting break.' The vehicle generally had a large coachbuilt area to house the 'hunters/shooters' and their weapons.
