1996 Lamborghini Raptor Navigation
The Raptor was the brainchild of former Lamborghini CEO Michael Kimberly, who requested an 'eye catcher' from Andrea Zagato just four months prior to the 1996 Geneva Auto Show. Fortunately, Zagato was one of the first companies to have full computer-aided design capabilities, so the entire car was created virtually. Based on the Diablo, the Raptor appeared at Geneva in March of 1996, and then came to Pebble Beach. It remained a one-off, and can be used as either a 'barchetta' or a coupe that has the signature Zagato double bubble roof.
The Lamborghini Raptor received the 5.7-liter V12 drivetrain from the Diablo, offering 492 horsepower, but did not receive the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and traction control system. With the use of carbon fiber bodywork, the Raptor weighed less than the Diablo.
