The Lancia Astura was one of the most luxurious cars built in Italy during the 1930s. This Third Series Astura has coachwork by Carrozzeria Castagna of Milan. One of the oldest established Italian coachbuilders, the Casatagna Company began building carriages in 1849. Ercole Castagna, the son of the company's founder, bodied cars for movie stars, royalty, and even the Pope. This Astura is one of his finest creations. The engine is Lancia's 2.9-liter, narrow-angle V-8 design with the single-cylinder head first patented for the Lancia Dilambda.
