1922 Ford Model TT One-Ton Truck

Ford introduced the TT in late 1917 for the 1918 model year. Production continued through 1927. This 1922 model is one of 154,039 made that year and cost $430 new. Early TT's came from the factory as a chassis only. No cabs or bodies were produced by Ford until 1924. Prior to this, cabs and bodies were supplied by coachbuilders or built by the owners.

Although the TT is a one-ton truck, it has the same engine and transmission as the Model T car. The frame and suspension are much heavier, however.

In order for the 20 horsepower engine to carry the one-ton load, a 7.25:1 differential was the standard rear end. A 5.17:1 rear end was offered for higher speed applications.

With the standard 7.25:1 rear end, a TT seldom exceeds 20 miles per hour.
