1958 Fiat 600 Multipla Station Wagon

Fiat's city car produced from 1955 to 1969 was the 600. It was only 126 inches long and was the first rear-engined Fiat. It was extremely popular with 4,604,000 examples produced from 1955 to 1969. All were fitted with a three-synchro, four-speed transaxles. There was a water-cooled engine, a cabin heater, and generator with mechanical external regulators.

In 1956, a soft top and a six-seater version were introduced. The six-seater was dubbed the Multipla and was based on the Fiat 600's drivetrain, and model 1100 coil and wishbone independent front suspension.

This example is a left-hand drive version that has been completely restored.

In 2008, the car was brought to the Hilton Head Sports & Classic Car Auction presented by the Worldwide Auctioneers. It was estimated to sell for $40,000 - $50,000. Those estimates were proven accurate as a high bid of $41,800 including buyer's premium was enough to secure new ownership. The lot was sold.
