1973 Ferrari 365 GT4 Navigation
The Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 was introduced in 1972 and produced until 1975, with 470 examples produced. This was a relatively high number of vehicles for the Ferrari marque. These were also the most expensive series production Ferraris available for 17 years.
The 365GT4 2+2 eventually evolved through the 400 and 400i series, with production finally ending in 1989 with the 412i. The 465 GT4 was nearly identical to the 365 GTC/4 models with unchanged Tipo F101 AC000 motors and a five-speed gearbox. The tried-and-true engine was the work of Colombo and displaced 4.3-liters, had 12 cylinders, mounted at a 60-degree angle, and had dual overhead camshafts. There were six twin choke Weber 38 DCOE sidedraught carburetors which aided in making it one of the world's most potent full four-seaters. Top speed was in the 155mph neighborhood with zero-to-sixty taking just 6.4 seconds.
The 2+2 seating provided adequate room for passengers and the boot had enough room for luggage. They were excellent touring cars that offered comfort, reliability, and performance.
This example has just over 61,000 miles on the odometer. It has been well maintained over the years and still has its original leather-bound books and tools.
In 2008, this 2+2 Coupe was offered for sale at the Hilton Head Sports & Classic Car Auction presented by Worldwide Auctioneers. It had an estimated value of $45,000 - $55,000. As the gavel fell for the third and final time, bidding had failed to satisfy the reserve. The lot was left unsold.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2008
