2008 Chevrolet Corvette Hatchback Coupe

Following on the success of the Shelby Mustang GT-H Special Edition cars, a run of 500 Special Edition ZHZ Corvettes were created for the Hertz Corporation's 'Fun Collection.' These exclusive Corvette ZHZ models were available at its airport locations in 24 major metropolitan cities across 14 states and Washington, DC. Each ZHZ Corvette was given a 6.5-liter LS3 engine that offered 436 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque. Other features included an optional exhaust system, six-speed paddle shift 'manu-matic' transmission, cross-drilled disc brakes, improved suspension, and 18-inch front and 19-inch rear seven-spoke alloys.

In 2008, this 'Fun Collection' Special Edition ZHZ Corvette was offered for sale at the Hilton Head Sports & Classic Car Auction presented by Worldwide Auctioneers. It had an estimated value of $60,000 - $80,000 and marked the first opportunity this Special Edition model was offered for sale to the public. As bidding came to a close, the car had failed to satisfy the reserve and was left unsold.
