1937 Cadillac Series 90 V16 Stationary Coupe

Like many expensive cars of the era, this magnificent Cadillac was a 'statement' by its original owner, in this case, George Hummel of the Lorillard Tobacco Company. It is built on a massive 154-inch wheelbase chassis (the largest available at the time), which further accentuates the beautiful lines of this Fleetwood-built coupe.

This car has less than 20,000 miles from new. It received a repaint many years ago, otherwise, it is as delivered new.

Cadillac's V-16 engine now featured overhead valves. The engine developed 185 horsepower from its 452 cubic inches. Only 50 total Cadillac 16's were sold in 1937. Four stationary coupes were built in 1937; this is the only known survivor. The cost new in 1937 was a whopping $7,745.
