1960 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Limousine

The flagship of Rolls-Royce, the massive Phantom V, saw only 513 (as many as 516) built with only 133 receiving Park Ward all-aluminum coachwork. This Limousine is number 69 of the 101 built in 1960. It was delivered in April of 1960 and came equipped with a flag mast and a diplomatic seal plaque holder, radio antenna, and high-frequency horns at the request of its first owner, the UK-based High Commissioner for Nigeria.

It has enjoyed celebrity ownership in the United States. The car has had a mechanical overhaul and re-spray in the 1990s and has all-new leather, built-in bar with decanters, jump seats, lambs wool throw carpets, fitted cigarette case, notebook, and power-operated divider window. There is a burled-walnut drinks cabinet containing two crystal decanters and four glasses centered between the two rear opera seats. Neatly integrated twin air-conditioning units were added, presumably during the 1980s, when the car was in a Texas collection. The aluminum V8 engine is mated to an automatic transmission.

This car won Best Rolls-Royce at Stan Hywett and Award of Distinction at the Arthritis Foundation show, both in 2008.

It is currently painted in its original color of Mason's Black, with cashmere upholstery replacing the original maroon trim in the passenger compartment.
