1935 Duesenberg Model J Limousine

This Duesenberg was built for Miss Annie Purcell of Scarsdale, NY. She was Madame there and used this limousine to drive her clients to New York City to go to the opera and a night out on town. This was one of the most expensive Duesenbergs ever built at a cost of around $40,000 when new. Every Duesenberg was built individually to the specifications of the owner. The six-fender design is unique with the extra fender at the base of the rear doors. The car features sterling silver exterior handles and German silver interior handles, door sills, and light surrounds. There is a heater in the rear and a mother-of-pearl call button for the driver. The two jump seats are for extra passenger seating and make the car a seven-passenger limousine. The rear interior is camel broadcloth and the front driver's compartment is all leather and matches the exterior of the car. The top is made of two hides of leather. The current owners purchased the car in August 1990, and it has been driven on many cross-country tours.
