1952 Buick Series 50 Super Woody Wagon

Very few Super Estate Wagons ('Woodies') were manufactured in 1952 (1,641 out of 303,745 total production). All Woodies were produced in the Flint Assembly Plant due to the proximity of the outside supplier - Ionia Body Company of Ionia, Michigan. Ionia Body Company supplied the combination of wood and steel bodies from 1949 through 1953. This example is unique because all the wood is original. The serial number reveals this is a 'late production' car. The Estate Wagon (Model 59) was the most extensive Super model with a base price of $3,296.00. This car is equipped with an optional Dynaflow transmission ($193.00) plus full wheel covers, electric clock and parking brake release signal light.
