1961 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Convertible

This Chevrolet Corvette is painted in Roman Red paint with white accented coves. The car was manufactured in February of 1961, which was the final year of the colored coves. It is one of the final 321 cars to be given the two-toned paint designs. The interior is black, and there is a white power top. There were only 422 Corvettes made like this in 1961.

There is a matching numbers 283 cubic-inch engine overhead valve V-8 engine capable of producing 230 horsepower. There is a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission and drum brakes. Amenities include power windows, a transistorized Wonderbar radio, and a heater. There are correct hubcaps, T-3 headlights, and whitewall tires. It has been given a complete, frame-off restoration.

In 2009, this 1961 Corvette was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona, where it was estimated to sell for $70,000 - $90,000 and offered without reserve. The lot was sold for $57,200, including the buyer's premium.
