1904 Searchmont Type VII Rear-Entrance Tonneau

In just four short years, the Searchmont was built by three different firms
- The SEarchmont Motor Co.
- Fournier-Search Co.
= The Searchmont Automobile Co.

In 1904, sales began to dwindle and eventually, Searchmont sold their remaining stock of 100 cars to the Wanamaker Department Store which sold them at a reduced price until the stock was depleted and the SEarchmont Company went out of business.

This example is thought to be the only complete Searchmont remaining, it was discovered in a barn on Long Island, New York by pioneer auto collector Henry Austin Clark, acquired and restored by collector Bill Pollock, and used by three later owners, most recently Bob Ames in Britain's 2013 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

This 1904 Searchmonth Type VII has a rear-entrance Tonneau body style, a 78-inch wheelbase, and is powered by a two-cylinder, chain driven even with a 4.5-inch bore, a 5-inch stroke, and delivering ten horsepower. There is a three-speed transmission with reverse.
