1965 Bobsy SR3 Sports Roadster

The 1965 Bobsy SR3 was designed and built by Jerry mong of Vanguard Automotive in Medina, Ohio. Approximately 50 Bobsy SR3s were built, with about 150 Bobsy SR2-SR7s built during the 1960-1970s. The Bobsy sports racers competed in SCCA Club and USRRC Pro racing against the great small-bore sports racers of the era, including Elva, Lotus, Genie, and Porsche. This particular car started its life as a Mid-West SCCA Club racer in the 1960s and has been actively raced in Vintage since the 1980s.

This Bobsy SR3 is one of a few examples built with the center console. It is believed to be one of the last SR3s constructed. It is powered by a dry-sump Lotus TwinCAM 1700cc engine built by Lotus West. It has a Hewland MK9 5-speed gearbox, a limited-slip differential, LD20 brakes, and a fiberglass body over aluminum semi-monocoque chassis.

The only chassis stamp found on this Bobsy is an '8'.
