Convertible
The fins on the 1959 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight started atop the front fenders and culminated in rocket-shaped appendages in the rear. The design was termed the 'Linear Look' by Oldsmobile designers and had a shape that was much cleaner in line than its highly chromed 1958 predecessor. The Ninety-Eight series ultra-luxury cars were available as a four-door hardtop, four-door sedan, convertible and two-door hardtop. The engine was a 394 cubic-inch 'Rocket' V-8 unit mated to a four-speed 'Jetaway' Hydra-Matic transmission.

This 1959 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Convertible was built in Lansing, Michigan on January 14th of 1959 and delivered to a Dearborn dealer. The original owner was called into military service in 1960, and the car was driven only occasionally by his parents over the next few years. In 1966, it was purchased by the current owner's brother. At the time of purchase, the car had traveled just 7,560 miles since new.

In 1988, the current owner purchased the car from his brother. The odometer reads just over 56,000 miles.
