1922 Duesenberg Racer

In 1991, this Duesenberg was at a repair shop in B/A Argentina. The car had been returned to the Duesenberg factory in the 1920s for repairs, and it this time, it was suggested it be made into a racecar. So the car was restyled across the street in the Duesenberg Racing Car Shop. Like many Duesenberg race cars of the era, it was given narrowed Hudson Rails, original factory cross members, suspension, and drive train.

This 1922 Duesenberg Race Car was offered for sale at the 2006 Russo and Steele Auction in Monterey, Ca. During the early 1930s the racer participated in Indy and other American races. It has been featured in magazines, books, and is a well-photographed vehicle. It also raced at the Pam American Mile. It last raced in 1992 at Japan's Mille.

The motor was rebuilt in 2001 and spare tires and lights have been added for its prior racing endeavors in South America. On auction the day the vehicle found a new owner at the price of $105,600.
