Built in late January 1939, this Citroen was 1 of 596 cars exported in 1939 of a 1288 made at Slough. It was first sold on April 15, 1939 in Wellington, New Zealand. It was commandeered by Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) in December of 1939.
The car was used as a staff car throughout the war at the air bases located around Wellington (Major training centers for NZ Pilots). The car was returned to its owner in May of 1946 and sat in storage until reconditioned in 1972. The car was used in club functions around N.Z.
It was sold to a neighbor coming to the States in 1976. The car arrived in 77 but was not used and placed in storage until the owner returned to N.Z. in 1994.
