1926 Ford Model T Depot Hack

The Ford Model T began production in 1908 and was affectionately known as the 'Tin Lizzie' and the 'Flivver'. It would remain in production in the same basic form for nearly two decades, during which time approximately 15 million examples were built.

This Depot Hack wears an older restoration. It has black fenders and a black forward section. The woodwork is oak and mahogany and there are three rows of seating for six. There is red pin striping, red painted wood-spoke wheels, new four-ply tires, a side mounted spare wheel and tire, Ford accessory aluminum step plates, electric cowl lights, a Coleman accessory spotlight and a vinyl-covered roof. The four-cylinder, 176.7 cubic-inch engine offers 20 horsepower. There is an electric starter for ease of operation, a two-speed planetary manual transmission with reverse, and hand-operated internal expanding brakes at the rear wheels, and a contracting band transmission brake.

In 2009, this Depot Hack was offered for sale at the Vintage Motor Cars of Hershey presented by RM Auctions where it was expected to sell for $20,000 - $25,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the lot had been sold for the sum of $14,850, including buyer's premium.
