    1961 Lotus Type 19 Navigation
The mid-engined Lotus Type 19 was produced from 1960 through 1962 and based on the Type 18 and fitted with a fiberglass body over a tube frame. Originally, the Type 19 was powered by a 2496cc Coventry Climax engine.

The Type 19 was given the name 'Monte Carlo' by Colin Chapman in honor of Stirling Moss's victory at the 1960 Monaco Grand Prix. This was Lotus's first in Formula 1 competition.

This Lotus Type 19 has been restored using many original period components and was intended for British and European historic, and American vintage, sports-car racing. It rides on a British-made replacement chassis frame constructed in the late 1980s.

In 2009, this Type 19 was offered for sale by Bonhams Auction at the Quail Lodge Resort and Golf Club in Carmel, CA. It was estimated to sell for $100,000 - $130,000. The lot left the auction unsold.
