2003 Saleen S7 Coupe

Steve Saleen and his company, Saleen Autosport, introduced their ultimate road car in 2000, the Saleen S7, built to homologate the S7R for international racing. It was given exotic composite materials and CNC-machined alloy components. Power was from an alloy overhead valve 427 cubic-inch V8 with electronically controlled fuel injection capable of producing 550 horsepower. There was a six-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.

This example is a first-generation S7 that was first registered in 2002 in Malibu, California. It remained in California until summer 2005, when it was acquired by the present caretaker. Since then, it has seen little use and has been properly stored and well maintained. It is painted in silver over a tan interior.

In 2010, this Saleen S7 was brought to Gooding & Company's Scottsdale Auction where it was estimated to sell for $100,000 - $175,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the lot had been sold for the sum of $181,500 including buyer's premium.
