It is believed that this Delage was originally delivered to a French actress in September of 1937. After World War II, the car was in the care of British ownership where it remained until the 1960s, at which time it was exported to the United States. It remained in the care of two separate owners in the US before returning to Europe in the 1980s. It was in a French Collection and treated to a comprehensive restoration. In 2006 it was acquired by the current owner. In 2010, it was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company Auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was estimated to sell for $550,000 - $650,000. As bidding came to a close, the lot was sold for the sum of $605,000, inclusive of buyer's premium.
