Changes in ownership and top management team at Coys

International auctioneers COYS are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Routledge as their new CEO.

Following the retirement of Chairman Douglas Jamieson at the end of 2015, Chris, who acted as Managing Partner and has worked at the firm since 1991, has taken over the helm at COYS, and will be joined by new partner Guy Newton in taking the company forward, which has been a household name in the auctioneering world since 1919.

COYS specialist Guy Newton will join Chris as Auctioneering Partner. The rest of the core team will remain unchanged with James Good, George Nichole, Alex Fischer, Ben Manch, Nick Wells, Holly Curtis and Tom Allkins.

Douglas Jamieson said: 'I am delighted for Chris and the team. I have had a fabulous career with the company and I am looking forward to focusing on my personal pursuits. I have a number of ongoing projects with COYS and will continue to work alongside them on special events in my retirement.'

Chris Routledge said: 'Having worked at COYS for 25 years, it is a fantastic feeling to take control of the business which I have devoted so much of my life to. It is all a bit of a fairy-tale story and I am looking forward to the exciting adventure ahead with Guy and the team.'

Guy Newton said: 'I have worked alongside Douglas and Chris for a number of years. Douglas' retirement has given me a great opportunity to join Chris in partnership and work alongside him in the future. I think we make a powerful cocktail of youth, passion and experience.'

COYS next auction is at the London Motorcycle Show at the ExCeL on February 13th, followed by the annual Spring Classics sale at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London on March 8th.
