March 15, 2016- The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press (RMAP) announced its members have named the 2016 Honda Civic Sedan as the Rocky Mountain Car of the Year. RMAP membership consists of automotive journalists from 10 different states who reach millions of potential car and truck buyers via the internet, radio, in print or on TV. RMAP journalists regularly receive manufacturer press fleet vehicles for review and testing. They also interact with automaker's executives, engineers, designers, and other representatives to learn all the details about the latest vehicles.

2016 marks the tenth annual Rocky Mountain Vehicle of the Year awards. The goal is to recognize outstanding vehicles that are new or significantly revised for the 2016 model year. In order to be eligible for the award, vehicles must be in the Rocky Mountain regional press fleet and available for RMAP members to test.

The RMAP vehicle nominating committee considered performance, fuel economy, value, and other vehicle features to narrow down the field to four finalists in the Rocky Mountain Car of the year. The finalists for 2016 were the Honda Civic Sedan, Jaguar F-Type R, Mazda MX-5 and Nissan Maxima. After voting by the entire RMAP membership was complete, the Honda Civic Sedan emerged as the winner. RMAP congratulates the Honda Motor Company for winning this prestigious award. Consumers will see a banner distinguishing the Honda Civic Sedan as the 2016 Rocky Mountain Car of the Year at the Denver Auto Show, which runs from March 16-20 at the Denver Convention Center.
