FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 1, 2018 – Hyundai Motor America reported October sales of Hyundai- and Genesis-branded vehicles of 53,025 units, a slight increase in comparison with October 2017. Retail deliveries were up 8 percent for the month, while fleet sales were down 22 percent compared with last year. October was the fifth straight month of retails sales growth and total sales have increased in five out of the last six months.
Hyundai Brand Highlights
Hyundai-branded vehicle sales increased by 3 percent, led again by a monthly SUV sales record that rose 8 percent compared with the prior year. Tucson set another monthly record, making it 20 months in a row, with a 32 percent increase. SUV retail sales in October represented 49 percent of total volume versus 40 percent last October. Elantra established a new October high with 18,312 units sold, its sixth straight monthly increase with sales growth of 24 percent. Veloster and Ioniq rounded out the Hyundai models with rising sales, up 55 percent and 25 percent respectively year-over-year.

Our refreshed lineup is successfully driving retail results growth in the back half of this year.'

•SEMA: At this year's SEMA Show, Hyundai released plans for a line of accessory performance parts for the 2019 Veloster Turbo and other sporty Hyundai models.
•2019 Kona and Tucson Pricing: Hyundai announced 2019 pricing for two of its most popular SUV models. The 2019 Kona starts at $19,990, while the 2019 Tucson starts at $23,200 with both now offering several Hyundai SmartSense safety technologies as standard equipment.
•Kona Wins 2018 Sub-Compact SUV of Texas: The Texas Auto Writers Association awarded the 2018 Kona the Sub-Compact Sport Utility Vehicle of Texas.
•Hyundai Motor Named a Top 40 Global Brand for Fourth Consecutive Year: Hyundai Motor was ranked among the highest valued brands in the world once again according to global brand specialist Interbrand.
