Working together to strengthen the County's diminished supply
MONTEREY, Calif., September 1, 2020 –WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will host a series of blood drives in the coming months to strengthen the County's diminished supply. The Natividad Medical Center at the raceway will be the location for the next events to be held in September:
•Friday, September 18 – 12:00 PM-4:00 PM
•Saturday, September 19 – 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
This is a crucial time for blood donations due to COVID-19 in addition to the summer months being typically slow for blood donors.
The normal $5 day use entry fee for the Laguna Seca Recreation Area will be waived for donors, and in exchange for their donation, every participant will receive a Friday Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship general admission/paddock ticket. If the race must be held without spectators, the ticket will be honored for the 2021 race. Also offered in conjunction with a blood donation is a free COVID-19 FDA approved antibody test, if desired.
Advance appointments are encouraged to help maintain social distancing. To ensure the safety of all staff and blood donors, all staff and donors are required to wear a mask or cloth-based face covering at blood drives or donation centers. While donating blood is a strongly encouraged act of selflessness, if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 such as dry cough, extreme fatigue, fever or shortness of breath, please refrain from participating at this time.
The drives have very limited availability, so sign up quickly! Click here for Friday, September 18, and click here for Saturday, September 19. To participate in any of the Blood Drives, please visit BLOOD4LIFE.ORG or call 877-25-VITAL (877-258-4825) or 805-542-8500.
