• Simon Bisp moves to head up Customer Experience

• Matt Collins expands sales operations role to include logistics and car supply

• Andy Dolan joins BYD UK as Head of Retail Sales

BYD UK has announced Simon Bisp as its new Head of Customer Experience. As BYD continues to grow rapidly in the UK, and the customer base increases, creating an excellent customer experience becomes even more crucial to the company's continued growth.

Simon will be responsible for delivering an excellent customer experience at every touchpoint, including enquiry management, product training for retailer staff, purchase and handover experience and ownership experience.

Simon joined BYD UK in May 2023 – only a few months after the brand's launch – and played a key part in establishing business operations in the UK. He came to BYD after spending over 20 years at Peugeot in a variety of roles including Sales Director and Distribution Manager.

Meanwhile, Andy Dolan has joined BYD UK as Head of Retail Sales. Andy brings over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, having previously worked for Volvo Car UK as Senior National Used Car & Remarketing Manager. Andy will be responsible for driving BYD's continued sales growth, with a focus on the retail sector which currently makes up 40% of BYD's sales.

Matt Collins has joined the team as Head of Sales Operations and Logistics. Matt has worked in the UK automotive industry for 17 years, most recently at Volvo Car UK as Omnichannel Sales Manager. Matt's key responsibilities include ensuring the timely delivery of vehicles and streamlining logistics processes; driving sales performance through data and process management; and enhancing the customer and retailer experience by ensuring that vehicle availability aligns with demand and customer expectations.

Bono Ge, Country Manager, BYD UK, commented: 'Simon has done an absolutely fantastic job in laying the foundations for BYD in the UK, and as our customer base grows the customer experience is becoming increasingly important. Simon's task is ensuring that every element of the customer's journey is flawless – Simon's extensive experience makes him the perfect fit to take on this new role.

'I'm also delighted to welcome Andy and Matt to the UK leadership team. Combined they bring almost 40 years of industry experience and knowledge, and I'm confident they will both play a significant part in BYD's continued growth.'

These appointments come as BYD sets a new sales record in the UK, selling 9,271 cars in Q1 alone. This achievement is not only BYD UK's most successful quarter since the company introduced passenger cars in March 2023, but also means the company sold more cars in the most recent quarter than the whole of 2024 combined.

This impressive achievement has propelled BYD's UK market share to 1.6%, from 0.45% in 2024. In March alone, total market share was 1.8% – in exactly two years since the company launched passenger cars in the UK.
