VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. (Feb. 10, 2014) – Paul Ianuario returns as chief judge of the Pinehurst Concours d'Elegance, and a world-class team of judges – virtually intact from last year's inaugural vintage auto showcase – will accompany him to Pinehurst Resort in early May.
'It is unusual to have 22 of 26 judges returning; it is clearly an endorsement of our event,' Ianuario said. 'All of the judges throughout 2013 were saying how great the Pinehurst Concours was and how they were looking forward to coming back. They were talking about it at other Concours. Our judges were walking, talking billboards promoting the Pinehurst Concours, to not only other judges but to other car enthusiasts, telling them they ought to bring their cars to Pinehurst.'
In addition to Ianuario, the 2014 Pinehurst Concours judging roster in alphabetical order includes Bill Alley, John Ballard, John Carlson, Chuck Conrad, Diane Conrad, Bob Develin, Ed Gilbertson, Dr. Gerald Greenfield, Tom Harris, Donald Hopwood, Robert E. Ianuario, Barbara Anna Kefalonitis, John Kefalonitis, David Kirkman, Mark Lambert, Nigel Mathews, Mark Moskowitz, Paul Oslansky, Larry Printz, Jay Quail, Michael Spezia, Susan Tatios, Ed Tatios, Jim Thomas, Michael G. Tillson III.

'Our judges are aware of the great reputation of Pinehurst Resort and are all excited about helping build a new Concours, one in which we are confident will become one of the greatest in the country,' Ianuario said.
For the first time ever in May 2013, Ianuario led a judging team that was equipped with a unique digital judging application system to compute scores of the entrants using a 100-point system. With the app being foreign to most judges, a local Moore County high school student was assigned to each team to help with data input. Results were almost instantaneous at the conclusion, with printouts being achieved in less than a half hour.
Tickets to the 2014 event, which will feature 119 classic automobiles on the pristine fairways of Pinehurst Resort, can be purchased online at www.pinehurstconcours.com or by calling 910–973-6594. In addition, Pinehurst Concours tickets are available in the Pinehurst Resort Main Pro Shop, Carolina Hotel Newstand and Village Putter Boy Shop.
The 2014 Pinehurst Concours will kick off a celebrated six-week period at one of the world's top golf resorts, which hosts the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open Championships in consecutive weeks in mid June.
