Bridge of Weir, Scotland, 24th March 2014 – Bridge of Weir, the leading leather manufacturer for the automotive industry, is proud to support, in association with Volvo, the first ever Car Design Review Yearbook.

Car Design Review #1 is a new yearbook from the team behind Car Design News. Working with a panel of the industry's most respected car designers and automotive experts, the yearbook culminates in detail reviews of the winners and runners-up in the Car Design of the Year Awards. A jury of 10 of the world's most influential designers chose from a shortlist of 24 cars selected from the world's major motor shows during 2013.

Launched at the recent Geneva International Motor Show, Car Design Review is a lavish 160-page book that will become an annual publication, with Car Design of the Year Award presentations each year at the book's launch at Car Design Night Geneva.

The first 1,500 copies of the book will come complete with an exclusive leather bookmark from Bridge of Weir, manufactured using the same leather selected by Volvo for it's top- three short-listed concept car, the Concept Coupé. The Volvo Concept Coupé, unveiled at the Frankfurt International Auto Show in September 2013, was the first of a trio of new concept cars from Volvo, marking a new generation of design from the company under Senior Vice President of Design, Thomas Ingenlath. All three new concept cars featured leather interior from Bridge of Weir, marking 30 years of the companies' working together.

Car Design of the Year Award winners were named as the BMW i3 (Production Car Design of the Year), Nissan IDx (Concept Car Design of the Year) and a Lifetime Achievement Award went to designer Marcello Gandini.

Bridge of Weir Chairman Jonathan Muirhead said:

'Our congratulations to all those winning awards and shortlisted for Car Design of Year honours in 2014.
