Design and bespoke build expertise previously available only to the world's most prestigious car manufacturers can now be commissioned by private clients. The new Bespoke Car service will be launched at the Top Marques Show in Monaco (April 17-20).

The world's most successful individuals can now have their dream car designed and built to their own personal specification, without compromise, using manufacturing techniques proven in Formula 1. Envisage Group's new Bespoke Car Service offers private clients access to the remarkable design resources that until now have been used secretly by many of the world's most prestigious vehicle manufacturers to create glamorous concept cars for world-leading shows such as the recent Salon de l'Auto in Geneva. Launching at the Top Marques show in Monaco, alongside the first creation from this fascinating design-journey, the new service revives the indulgent luxury and craftsmanship of the great British coachbuilders of the last century.

The design journey begins with the client and Envisage Group's design director Ian Nisbett forming ideas in a virtual environment. 'Using virtual reality, we can build and test any number of ideas, gradually refining the look of the vehicle, viewing it in favourite locations, exploring shapes and textures until perfection is realised,' explains Nisbett. 'Customers can view their digital car from any angle, sit in it and close the door, even see it in their garage or next to their boat,' he says. 'When they are completely happy, we make a full size model for sign-off.'

The key to this exceptional capability is the blend of craftsmanship and new technology available at Envisage Group's new technical centre in Coventry, the English city that was home to a host of famous coachbuilders including Barker and Charlsworth. More than £3 million has been invested in design and build technologies specifically to bring automotive dreams to life. As well as the remarkable 3D design environment, Envisage Group uses laser sintering to create exquisite bespoke components in a range of materials, laser forming to craft bespoke lighting, graphics and instrumentation, and ultra-high precision etching to create intricate grills, trim and decor. These advanced techniques are combined with traditional coachbuilding skills, allowing high technology to be blended with fine leathers, hand-shaped aluminium and beautiful woods.

'Part of the skill that we bring is our engineers having a detailed understanding of vehicle technology and safety legislation, which allows us to ensure that every individual car also performs to the very highest technical standards,' explains Nisbett. 'Our cars are not compromised in any way. Given sufficient budget, there is no limit to the level of perfection that can be achieved.'

Visitors to stand F2 will be taken on a journey through the four design stages, including live sketching by Ian Nisbett, who will invite guests to 'step into their dreams'. Selected customers will then be given the opportunity to slip into a virtual 3D world to visualise their custom-designed car, perfect in every detail, parked alongside their weekend yacht or premium speedboat. The Envisage Group stand will feature a ¼-scale model of the all-new Khan Grand Tourer concept as well as a recreation of a Le Mans winning Jaguar, the Proteus C-Type.
