The Kellner Coachbuilding Company began creating custom bodies for carriages in 1861. It had been created by George Kellner. As the automobile industry began during the late 1890's and early 1900's, the Kellner Company followed suite. They began creating custom coachbodies for automobiles beginning in 1903. By this time, the sons of the company's founder were now in-charge.
