Carrozzeria Scaglietti was founded in 1951 by Sergio Scaglietti. The Scaglietti repair shop was located in Maranello, Italy, and only a short distance from Ferrari. After gaining the respect of Enzo Ferrari, Scaglietti's repair shop was tasked with designing and creating some memorable Ferraris such as the 250 California and 250 GTO. One of the most memorable Ferrari/Scaglietti creations was the Formula One inspired pontoon fenders on the 250 Testa Rossa.

Due to their lightweight and aerodynamic body creations, Ferrari made Scaglietti their premier shop for their racing program, replacing Giotto Bizzarrini.

The Scaglietti Company is now owned by Ferrari and is used to produce the 360 Modena and 61 Scaglietti.
