In 1953, Mrs. Margaret Van Alen Bruguiere, one of the last dowagers of Newport, Rhode Island, ordered this touring limousine with a body made by Hooper and Company. It was shipped to her on December 14, 1953, on the SS Queen Elizabeth. 'Daisy' Bruguiere was the niece of Frederick Vanderbilt, grandson of the infamous Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, the second-richest man in history. The current owner, the fourth, purchased the car in 2008. By 2010, the restoration was complete.
