DEARBORN, Mich., May 10, 2021 – Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for select 2016-19 Ford Explorer vehicles for roof rail covers that may become detached from the vehicle while driving and create a hazard for others on the road. Affected Explorer series vehicles include base and XLT trim levels, as well as Police Interceptor and Explorer Sport models with roof rail covers that are painted Silver, Black or Absolute Black.

Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety compliance recall related to the rearview camera on select 2020-21 Lincoln Aviator vehicles. The image processing module may be intermittently unable to provide a video feed to the display screen. This could result in a loss of the rearview camera image when the vehicle is in reverse. Affected rearview cameras do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and require corrective action by the manufacturer.

During checks to deliver high levels of quality and customer satisfaction, Ford discovered some vehicles may have subframe bolts that the supplier did not tighten to specification.
