1983 Jaguar XJ6

The 1983 Jaguar XJ6 received only minor changes. It was available as a four-door sedan or a luxury Vanden Plas edition which cost an additional $3,000. Power was from a dual overhead cam six-cylinder engine displacing 258 cubic-inches and offering 175 horsepower. They had a three-speed automatic and disc brakes in both the front and rear.

The Vanden Plas Edition added full leather upholstery, wood-veneer dash applique, woven throw rugs, rear-compartment reading lamps, and rear center armrest with built-in storage compartment. Also, special emblems distinguished the base XJ6 and the Vanden Plas.
