The 1993 Jaguar XJS was available as either a 2+2 coupe or convertible. It came standard with a overhead-cam, 24-valve 4-liter six-cylinder engine rated at 225 horsepower. A much larger, 12-cylinder engine with an aluminum block and head brought horsepower to 263 horsepower. Both engine options came with a four-speed automatic and four-wheel disc brakes.The convertible body style received mild mechanic updating with a new cross brace in both the front and the back. It also received a stainless steel underfloor. Pricing began at $47,750 for the 4-liter coupe.
