GM TOTAL FLEET SALES UP 7 PERCENT IN 2014DETROIT – Fleet and commercial customers purchased more vehicles from General Motors than any other automaker in 2014.

Fleet and commercial customers took delivery of 703,582 Chevrolets, Buicks, GMCs and Cadillacs, a 7 percent increase from 2013.

'Each facet of our fleet and commercial business was up in 2014,' said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president, GM Fleet & Commercial. 'Our sales performance was strong in every segment of the market – pickups, full size vans, cars and crossovers.'

For 2014, commercial fleet sales were up 24 percent, rental sales were up 2.4 percent and government sales were up 0.3 percent. December marked the company's 14th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains in the commercial fleet segment.

December commercial deliveries were up 38 percent compared to a year ago, driven by a 65 percent increase in full-size pickup sales. The Chevrolet Cruze, named 2014 Fleet Car of the Year by Automotive Fleet and Business Fleet magazines, saw a 51 percent year-over-year fleet sales increase.

In 2014, General Motors won eight Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America™ awards, the second consecutive year GM has topped the list. GM leads all automakers in number of vehicles recognized since the awards program's launch in 2006.

GM 2014 Best Fleet Value winners were: Buick Encore, Buick Enclave, Buick LaCrosse, Buick Verano, Chevrolet Spark EV, Chevrolet Express G3500, GMC Sierra 2500HD and GMC Sierra 3500HD. In its ninth year, the Vincentric Awards are used by fleet operators to understand vehicle lifecycle costs, a key part of the purchase process.

'We are committed to providing our commercial customers with vehicles that are not only great on the road, but great for their bottom line,' Peper said.
