1941 Plymouth PT125

1941 was the last year for the Plymouth pickup. Production for the entire automotive industry was low as the U.S. was on the verge of entering World War II. The engine was a flathead 6-cylinder unit offering 87 horsepower and backed by a three-speed manual gearbox. The PT-125 was similar to its 1940 and 1939 siblings. The 1939 models had received several significant changes including a new cab and modern styling which no longer simulated passenger cars. The cab was moved forward and the box was lengthened. For 1940, sealed beam headlamps were added. The 1941 Plymouth PT-125 pickup had a base price increase to $625. Changes included the addition of cowl-mounted parking lights, the nameplates were re-located to the center of the hood, and the headlights moved out to the centerline of the fenders.

6,073 Plymouth trucks were built in 1941, all built on the Dodge truck line. In comparison, over 54,000 half-ton Dodge trucks were delivered to the government alone.
