The 2000 Subaru Impreza could be purchased as an L Coupe, L Sedan, L Station Wagon, Outback Sport Station Wagon, or a 2.5RS Coupe. New for 2000 was the addition of the 2.5 RS Sedan. The base engine was a horizontally opposed, overhead-cam four-cylinder unit which displaced 135 cubic-inches and offered just over 140 horsepower. The 2.5 RS versions were given a 150 CID engine which brought the horsepower to 165 BHP.
