SILVERSTONE AUCTIONS RETURNS TO THE PRACTICAL CLASSICS RESTORATION SHOWSilverstone Auctions is gearing up for its second sale at the Practical Classics Restoration Show, taking place at the NEC on Saturday 28th March.

Running alongside the popular classic car show, the sale will offer the chance to acquire some extraordinary restoration projects and compelling barn finds, as well as a diverse range of special, road ready classic cars.

Following the unprecedented success of last year's inaugural sale, where more than £1 million worth of barn finds were sold, entries are now invited into the sale with interest placed on classic car discoveries as well as classics in quality condition. 85 per cent of the cars offered were successfully hammered away in last year's sale and potential vendors are advised to get in touch soon. It's the last chance to enter a car into the sale as the catalogue closing date is 11th March.

Nick Whale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions, said: 'We are delighted to be hosting our second sale at the Practical Classics Restoration Show. As the market for barn finds grows ever more in demand, we look forward to providing another opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors to purchase these exciting cars.'

Highlights of last year's sale included a 1958 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe; a stunning barn find which fetched more than £60,000. As ever, Aston Martin remained in high demand, with a 1967 Aston Martin DBS V8 Series 1 barn find selling for almost £50,000, nearly double its upper estimate.

One of the most impressive classic barn finds ever sold by Silverstone Auctions has to be a 1973 Ferrari 246GT Dino. The Ferrari remained untouched for over 39 years and sold for a phenomenal £132,250.

A number of fantastic cars have already been consigned into the sale. For those who prefer 'road ready' classics, a 2001 BMW Z8, estimated at between £75,000 and £95,000, will be offered. Presented in superb condition and with an odometer meter reading of 39,753 miles, this modern classic should not be missed. Also offered will be an exceptional 1998 Ferrari F355 Spider, estimated at between £60,000 and £70,000. A 1961 3.8 Litre Mk II Jaguar, purchased by the previous registered keeper in 1974 and not used since a tree fell on his garage, is in need of total restoration and offered at no reserve.

Nick added: 'The popular show attracted thousands of classic car fans last year so what better place to sell your car?'
