With its striking two-tone exterior, distinctive slotted grille, and round headlamps, Liberty carries the unmistakable Jeep style befittingly. But the real beauty is under the sheet metal - where we've installed over sixty years of legendary Jeep 4x4 engineering. Liberty exudes rugged capability.
Before Liberty could wear the Jeep® nameplate, it had to walk the walk. That's why we put it through the original test used on Jeep military vehicles, including 15,000 off-highway miles and validation on the famed Rubicon trail. Combine that with the Toledo North Assembly Plant's high standards for research, planning, development, and production, and now we're talkin' the talk!
Standard Electronic Stability Program* (ESP) enhances vehicle control and stability by countering forces acting on the vehicle. So you'll have a steadier ride no matter what the terrain.
The 210-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 allows Liberty to tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. The 2.8L Common-Rail Diesel (CRD) boasts 160 horsepower and provides up to 32% better fuel efficiency compared to gasoline engines.
Bring on the terrain. Liberty's water-fording capabilities get you through wet off-highway trails or flooded underpasses. And at curb weight, Liberty delivers an impressive 9.4 inches of ground clearance, 37-degree approach angle, a 31.5-degree departure angle and a breakover angle of 21.8 degrees.
With best-in-class torque and towing power, Liberty's available Common Rail Turbo Diesel (CRD) engine conquers new frontiers in capability.
Liberty's Jeep®-engineered coil-spring independent front suspension combines excellent overall ride, handling, and precise steering control with Rubicon-tested capabilities.
Liberty's precise rack-and-pinion steering system is Jeep®-engineered to maintain off-highway ruggedness while retaining its fun-to-drive quality. Effort, feel, and response are tuned to give the driver accurate control and positive feedback on any terrain.Source - Jeep
