2006 Honda Odyssey

2006 Honda Odyssey
Everything you want in one shiny package.
As adaptable as it is luxurious, the 2006 Honda Odyssey offers cutting-edge design with features such as the stowable 2nd-row PlusOne Seat™ (EX and EX-L), which adds seating for an eighth passenger. It packs a 244-hp engine that propels it to the head of its class; and the latest innovative Honda engineering is at its core, so you get all that power with efficiency, economy and low emissions, too. And since it's a Honda, you know that it utilizes the most innovative safety technology, including Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, which enhances the potential for energy absorption during a collision. The Honda Odyssey. With more cars in the world than any other time in history, Honda knows the environmental challenge is more important than ever.

2006 Honda Odyssey
For three decades, Honda has played a leading role in meeting the environmental challenge. Our approach has always focused on those vehicle and fuel options we believe have the greatest real-world potential. The goal is not engineering prizes or newspaper headlines. The goal is to make environmentally friendlier products that our customers want to buy because the products are easy to own and fun to drive.

2006 Honda OdysseyThe Honda Odyssey embodies this environmental spirit with its powerful V-6 engine that produces up to 244 hp and 250 lb.-ft. of torque on regular gas. The Odyssey has earned an Últra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ÚLEV-2) rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and an EPA fuel economy rating of 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway—which is the highest fuel economy in its class, according to the 2005 Fuel Economy Guide.

How does the Odyssey do it? The answer is simple: Smaller engines use less fuel. (concept carz) The brilliant Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM™) system found on the Odyssey is powered by the intelligence of i-VTEC® technology to quickly and seamlessly activate or deactivate the three rear cylinders, depending on the driver's demands. So you get the best of both worlds: V-6 power when you're accelerating or climbing, as well as the efficiency of a smaller engine while cruising. Waste not, want not.

The Honda Odyssey is fortified with a host of standard safety features on all trims, like anti-lock braking (ABS) with a brake-assist feature, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®), front 3-point seat belts with pretensioners, and Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system for easy installation of compatible child seats. Also standard are front airbags, front side airbags and 3rd-row side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor. The dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags (SRS) deploy at one of two rates and thresholds, depending on the severity of impact and seat-belt use. Sensors prevent the deployment of the passenger's side airbag if a child or small adult is in the airbag's deployment path. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure incorporates a front-end frame structure that absorbs and disperses crash energy over a larger area. ACE increases Odyssey passenger protection, and makes it more crash-compatible with vehicles of differing ride heights.

The Touring model features a unique, removable second-row center console that ups the ante with incredible storage space. And a power tailgate gives you access to 147 cubic feet of cargo room with the second-row seats removed. And new for 2006: every Touring model includes the Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System.

Innovative power adjustable gas and brake pedals, as well as a two-position memory for the driver's seat, make chauffeur duty a joy. A tri-zone automatic climate control system gets everyone in their very own comfort zone. A 115-volt rear power outlet in the third row makes it possible to plug in the kids' video game console, and their hands will be free to play thanks to 17 beverage holders. Turn up the 360-watt AM/FM/6 disc in-dash CD changer premium audio system with 7 speakers, including a subwoofer. And new for 2006, XM® Satellite Radio* comes standard, so you can create the perfect driving soundtrack.

With the Touring model's Michelin® PAX® System, you'll be especially confident on the road. In the event of a tire puncture, you can still travel at 50 mph up to 125 miles. And for extra peace of mind, body-colored parking sensors help you avoid objects when maneuvering in tight spots.
