The 1967 MG Midget MK III was powered by a larger version of the BMC A-series engine, now rated at 1275 cc and offering 65 horsepower. The engine found in the 1966 Midget MKII displaced 1098cc and had 59 horsepower. The MKIII had a four-speed transmission and a 4.22:1 final drive ratio. Disc brakes were in the front with drums in the rear.To comply with emission standards, the engine was fitted with an air injection system. An oil cooler was available as optional equipment. The Midget Roadster sold for $2,175 and around 99,896 examples of the MKIII Midget were built through 1974. Around 22,387 MG vehicles were sold in the United States in 1967.
