The running of the 1953 Indianapolis 500 Motor race, held on May 30th, was a heavily contested race. There were many racing 'specials', and many powered by Offenhauser engines. Jimmy Bryan piloted A Blakely Oil Special with a Schroeder/Offenhauser powerplant to an impressive 14th-place finish, after completing 183 laps.

This 1950 Schroeder Indianapolis Race Car with coachwork by Stevens was on display at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
