The 1982 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce convertibles sent to the United States now featured a Bosch fuel injection system. Pricing began at nearly $15,000 and featured a dual overhead-cam four-cylinder engine fitted with an aluminum block and head. A special edition of the Spider was available which sold for less money and came with a vinyl top instead of the cloth. Standard models had dual electric mirrors, alloy wheels, power windows, and leather upholstery. Both the standard and special edition models came with reclining bucket seats, woodgrain steering wheel, tinted glass, a windshield antenna, intermittent wipers, and a limited slip differential.
