The non-Japanese markets of the Z31 and Z32 generations of the Nissan Z that were built from 1983 to 2000 are commonly known as the Nissan 300ZX. For seven consecutive years, Car and Driver magazine rated the Z32 on its Ten Best list. In 1990, Motor Trend awarded it as the Import Car of the Year. The Z32 300ZX was a new design. It had a rounder profile and fewer hard edges. The Z31s had a drag coefficient of .30 while the Z32 was marginally increased to .31. Styling changes and updates were made along the way until its production in Japan came to an end in August of 2000. In the Spring of 1992, The 300ZX received a convertible body style. Pricing began at $29,100 for the GS Hatchback and rose to nearly $37,000 for the Turbocharged Hatchback with 2+2 seating. The base engine was a twin-overhead cam six-cylinder engine which displaced 180.6 cubic-inches and offered 220 horsepower. The turbocharged version boosted power to 300 horsepower.
