Barrett-Jackson Raises More Than $3.4 Million For Charity During 45th Anniversary Auction In Scottsdale

• John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda, was on stage when Acura NSX VIN #001 supercar (Lot #3007) hammered in at $1.2 million, the highest ever paid for an OEM VIN #001 charity vehicle in Barrett-Jackson's history, to benefit Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground

• Mark Fields, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company and professional rally driver Ken Block helped raise $550,000 with the sale of a one-of-one 2016 Focus RS (Lot #3009) to support JDRF

• Jay Leno helped sell his one-of-one Harley Davidson F-150 (Lot #3006) to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Feb. 2, 2016 – Barrett-Jackson, The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions®, was joined by Hollywood celebrities, pro athletes and top business executives to help raise $3,406,000 for local and national charitable organizations during the 45th Anniversary Auction from Jan. 23-31, 2016, at WestWorld of Scottsdale. The sale of these 11 charity vehicles brings Barrett-Jackson's total raised to date to just over $88 million. Stars who used their celebrity to raise money for deserving charities included country music artists Zac Brown Band, Jay Leno, NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and professional rally driver Ken Block.

'More than forty-five years ago, the first Barrett-Jackson event was held to raise money for the Scottsdale library,' said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. 'I'm proud that spirit of charity continues to be such a strong part of our auctions today. Every year, the generosity of our consignors, sponsors, celebrities and bidders grows stronger. This year we were especially excited to be a part of a new VIN #001 charity sale record when the Acura NSX supercar sold for $1.2 million.'

The Acura NSX VIN #001 supercar (Lot #3007) was not only this year's top charity vehicle, but set a new charity record for an OEM VIN #001 at Barrett-Jackson with its $1.2 million sale. John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda was on the block to encourage bidders. Zac Brown Band performed at the Opening Night Gala earlier in the week to promote the sale of the car and lead singer Zac Brown pre-recorded a special message reminding bidders that their donation would serve two worthy causes, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground.

'It was incredibly heart-warming to facilitate charity car sales this week,' said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. 'We love sharing the block with many of the people who benefit from the sale of the vehicles. When bidding starts, seeing the excitement and appreciation of a child battling brain cancer or a wounded warrior is truly uplifting. It reaffirms that Barrett-Jackson is a powerful tool in bringing real hope to many charitable organization and the people they serve.'

Mark Fields, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company and professional rally driver Ken Block piloted a Ford Focus RS (Lot #3009) on the block in support of JDRF. As an incentive to bidders, Fields added one-on-one track time and driver training with professional drivers from the Miller Motorsports Park in Toole, Utah.

On Friday, Jan. 29, Jay Leno, host of Jay Leno's Garage, joined Craig Jackson, Steve Davis and Mark Fields to sell his one-of-one 2000 Harley-Davidson F-150 (Lot #3006), which hammered in at $200,000. To encourage bidding during the auction, Leno agreed to personally deliver his truck to the winning bidder on the set of his hit TV series, Jay Leno's Garage.

General Motors was also a part of the spirit of charity with the donation of a 2016 Camaro SS VIN #001 (Lot #3008), which sold for $500,000 to benefit Kettering University and a 2016 COPO Camaro VIN #001 that sold for $300,000 and benefited United Way. Sixteen-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force as well as his daughter and NHRA superstar Courtney Force were on the block for the sale of the COPO Camaro.

Many other luminaries were also present to support causes close to their hearts. Tes Scanlon, Mrs. United Nations 2015, was on the block to support the sale of a 2015 JEEP Wrangler Custom (Lot #3001) to benefit Childhelp through SEMA Cares. Childhelp is the nation's oldest and largest nonprofit advocating for abused and neglected children. Professional NASCAR driver and 2012 Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski was also in attendance to support the sale of his 2012 Dodge Charger NASCAR Racecar that benefited the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

In total, 11 vehicles crossed the block in Scottsdale to support charity, which included:

2017 Acura NSX VIN #001 (Lot #3007) donated by Acura to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground – $1.2 million

2016 Ford Focus RS (Lot #3009) donated by Ford for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – $550,000

Additional $10,000 donated by Michelle Mauzy.

2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS VIN #001 (Lot #3008) donated by GM to benefit Kettering University – $500,000

Chevrolet Camaro COPO GEN 6 VIN #001 (Lot #3005) donated by GM to benefit United Way – $300,000

2000 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Truck (Lot #3006) donated by Jay Leno to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – $200,000

2012 Dodge Charger NASCAR Racecar (Lot #3002) to benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America – $150,000

Additional $10,000 donated by the Damon family.

2015 Chevrolet Colorado Military Tribute (Lot #3004) to benefit the Stephen Siller Foundation – $125,000

1932 Ford Hi-Boy (Lot #3010) to benefit the Alex Xydias Center for Automotive Arts – $105,000

2008 Mckinney Top Fuel Dragster (Lot #3000) to benefit B.R.A.K.E.S. Foundation – $100,000

2015 JEEP Wrangler Custom (Lot #3001) to benefit Childhelp through SEMA Cares – $81,000

2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (Lot #3003) to benefit The Barrett-Jackson Cancer Fund At TGen In Memory of Russ and Brian Jackson – $75,000
