DETROIT – For the second consecutive year, General Motors is the only automaker recognized by Military Times in its Best for Vets: Employers 2016 rankings. The Best for Vets list evaluates company culture and policies that cater to military veterans. 'The recognition is a credit to the ongoing hard work of our military affairs, veteran hiring and employee resource group leaders,' said Ken Barrett, GM chief diversity officer and a former U.S. Navy captain. 'Veterans bring a unique perspective and strong work ethic – and make us a better, stronger company.' The award is based on a rigorous 90-question survey analyzing a company's efforts to connect with veterans and provide an environment for success.
