1968 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Series

Chevrolet produced 6,807 examples of the 2-door hardtop sport coupe Corvair Monza and 1,386 examples of the convertible bodystyle. Pricing began at $2,500 for the sport coupe and $2,620 for the convertible. The horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine had a lightweight aluminum block and a 164 CID displacement size. The 'Turbo-Air' Six offered 95 horsepower and most received automatic transmissions. Standard features included a heater and defroster, hubcaps, a glove box light, dual headlamps, carpeting, and front bucket seats. The convertibles had courtesy lights while the coupes had a folding rear seat with had a new and improved latching mechanism.

The Monza Series had a high-grade interior finished in gold, black or blue. Other distinguishing features included rocker panel moldings, full wheel covers, chrome roof gutter strips, wheel lip moldings, and rear panel outline trim strips. To further distinguish the Monza Series, Chevy added Monza inverted delta-wing badges behind the front wheels.
